Take That fans crash ticket sites

Take That fans have been waiting to see Robbie Williams tour with the group for 16 years. Unfortunately, it didn’t go to plan for everyone. Several fans complained today when faced with problems while trying to buy tickets online. The sites of many official ticket agencies including Ticketmaster, See Tickets, Ticketline and The Ticket Factory  buckled under the strain as the tickets went on sale at 9 am.

This is not the first time such a problem has occurred. In fact, it is a recurring issue that ticket agencies seem to face with their servers constantly crashing when too many people are trying to access tickets at the same time. But why can’t ticket companies gear up for days like today? Surely all the sites need is more bandwidth or servers at times like this?

Personally I find it extremely frustrating, especially since while all this is going on, hundreds of tickets are appearing on eBay and other secondary websites at inflated prices. Police even warn fans not to buy these tickets from unofficial agencies, who may not fulfil orders and may use personal details in identity theft.

So what is the solution to this for the customer? Keep hitting refresh and hope for the best? Until ticket agencies come up with a better option,  that may be our only hope!
