Google Introduces +1

In order to give to their users the most relevant results as quickly, the giant search engine Google introduces the +1 button.

Since Google and the web are becoming more social it’s also important for the Internet users to find the appropriate results they are looking for. Social Media

is becoming a key platform for users to search for things because they knowthat the right answer is there and people like sharing almost everything in social media. Because of this, Google started to include information shared on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and other social media sites into their search results.

Today Google goes one step further and enables people to share their recommendations with the world in Google search results. The service is called . To recommend something you like, you have to clickon the+1 button that appears beside the search results. While you are searching for something you will also see how many people from your social network recommended this topic. The good thing about this +1 is that Google will also publish statistics about this in Google Adwords accounts which will help marketers and advertisers in order to collects useful information from their products.

To start using +1 you have to create a Google profile or upgrade if you have one. To see the +1’s in your Google search results you have to be logged into your Google Account.

Google’s +1 seems to be their reaction to Facebook’s Like button. Facebook’s Like button creates a connection between the Internet user and the page. Google’s +1 will do the same thing plus will show users profile who clicks on +1. Google’s move shows how important social search is for them. As mentioned before, users are starting to search more in social networking sites for relevant information and products. In the future we will see more steps in the name of social search.
